2026 Fall Colloquium

 

Thursdays from 11am-12pm on the main floor of the Anacostia Building. October 15th is the student researchers panel. Presentations on recent student-led research spearheaded by NCSG master and doctoral graduate assistants. Featuring Mel Throckmorton, Eric Burnstein, and Finn Meggitt. November 19th is PLPN: Redevelopment of Housing with Density & Without Displacement. Presentation on the work to understand the opportunities for increased density of existing residential sites with meaningful right of return for low- and moderate-income households in communities near the Purple Line. Featuring Dr. Jesse Saginor, Director of Colvin Institute + Chester Harvey, TPRG Monday, December 14th is a special event. Special talk by Dr. Angela Simms about her new book, "Fighting for a Foothold: How Government and Markets Undermine Black Middle Class Suburbia" Featuring Dr. Angela Simms

NCSG’s monthly research colloquium is now open to the public!

Join NCSG students, staff, and faculty every month during the academic semester to hear more about ongoing research from NCSG and our many partners. NCSG’s research colloquium is a dedicated space curated by NCSG’s Executive Director, Kathryn Howell, for researchers, advocates, and practitioners to come together to connect on ongoing local and statewide planning work.
