Chengri Ding is associate professor of Urban Studies and Planning and director of the Chinese Land Policy Program,
co-sponsored by the University of Maryland and the Lincoln Institute of Land Policy. His research interests include
urban economics, growth management, housing and land studies, and the application of quantitative methods and GIS to
issues in planning and public policy. He holds a B.S. degree from Beijing Normal University, an M.S. degree from the
Chinese Academy of Sciences, and a Ph.D. from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign in regional planning.
